10 Crazy Days

Since my last day at my old job a week and a half ago (it feels like a year ago!), I’ve been very busy! My life has revolved around 3 things: singing, drawing, and toys.

My choir has been busy rehearsing and performing (3 concerts and some Christmas Caroling).

Here we are, preparing to go Christmas Caroling at a local mall.

All of my “free time” has been consumed by drawing for my etsy business:

I’m working at a toy store (where I have worked before). A toy store at Christmastime = crazytown!

I’ve also been able to hang out with this little dude (the nephew):

And next week, I go to New York! We’ll be visiting family, and we’ll also spend a little time in the Big City. I’ll post about it. 🙂

Productive Weekend

I sold my first drawing on Etsy yesterday (someone sends me a photo portrait, and I draw it)! Yay! Hopefully it’s the first of many.

And Jane was…really helpful….

This was after I had shooed her away from my paper many. many. times.

.I also worked on a necklace for my mom…

And made a couple of cards…

Then today I had dance class, as usual…

And stopped by a craft fair, where they had an apple press (!), which smelled amaaaziingggg….

I got some groceries, and may I just say…

EGGNOG!!!!!!

Now I’m off to get some more stuff done and then watch Once Upon a Time. 🙂

Latest Activities

Here’s what I’ve been up to lately.

Went to the Arboretum…

Went to a Japanese Lantern Lighting Festival…

Chopstick Challenge! Contestants had to move small food items using chopsticks.

Goldfish Catching! Kids used small, delicate paper paddles (that tore easily) to catch goldfish.

Kendo- Japanese fighting with swords.

Jane likes to make drawing difficult by sleeping on me. She’d prefer to sleep on my paper, of course, but my lap is acceptable.

Went to the State Fair (opening day)…

We ate breakfast at Andy’s. Never had breakfast at the State Fair before.

This is very cute. Can’t really tell from the picture, but it’s a miniature house inside of an old tv set. All 3D. It looks like a painting or something here.

Name Animals

I made these for some young ladies that I worked with at my internship site. My internship there just ended, so I wanted to give them something as a parting gift. I had already asked them if they were an animal, what animal they would be. So then I just drew those and inserted their names into the drawings. On the backs of the drawings, I also wrote a little note of appreciation and best wishes for the future.

They didn’t all turn out exactly how I wanted, as some of the animals they chose were really hard to fit letters into. But they seemed to like them. There are more, but these are the better ones.
